The Summerville Volunteer Firemen's Association is the only fire department in Jefferson County to operate it's own ambulance service.  EMS Unit 71 is a 1986 Yankee Coach Modular Ambulance on a Ford Chassis.  EMS Unit 72 is a 1999 McCoy-Miller Ford Van.
